Products and solutions from STÖHR ARMATUREN have been used in aerospace activities since 1970, when they were first supplied for European space projects such as EUROPA, ARIANE and TEXUS. Our customer base has increased with the reliability of our valves, and today, our valves are used in space activities around the world. As well as numerous applications in ground logistics, we also develop and produce flying material such as valves for the TEXUS mission and components for satellites.

STÖHR ARMATUREN products have many applications in the field of aerospace. We have many years of experience of fulfilling high and varied requirements such as:

  • Tightness to atmosphere of mobile pressure cylinders and pressure vessels for transportation according to EU standards
  • Storage and distribution of large volumes of gas to the launch pad
  • Gas supply of test rigs for rocket engines
  • Launcher filling with highly flammable media in a very short time
  • Deep-frozen vacuum chambers for calibrating sensors and other space equipment
  • Cryogenic cooling of highly sensitive measuring instruments

Many options

Options for adaptation to a wide variety of operating conditions
High KVS values, high pressure ratings and large nominal sizes of up to DN300 enable large quantities of gas to be processed in a short time. With its extremely high leak tightness to the environment, bellow sealing reduces the risk of the explosion of oxygen or hydrogen in the event of a fault. Fast opening or closing times are often required to avoid overheating of the system or, in case of failure, to avoid or at least limit damages. These and other parameters are adjusted and checked according to the specifications of your project.

As well as the safety measures of the fitting by design and the high quality of workmanship, extensive final acceptance tests – often in the presence of customer representatives or external inspectors – guarantee maximum safety and reliability in use.
