Fittings for the industrial gas industry
Many of our valves are used for the storage and handling of medium nitrogen in gaseous or liquid form. Oxygen and, above all, hydrogen are being used more and more often, as the potential applications for customers in numerous industries continue to expand. We manufacture sophisticated and durable valves for a range of demanding applications: valves for vacuum jacketing, for pressure levels of up to 1,000 bar, to meet the safety standard for flammable gases, for difficult installation positions such as mobile trailers, and in extra-large nominal diameters of up to DN300.

Since the 1950s, STÖHR ARMATUREN has developed and manufactured fittings for ambient and later also for cryogenic media temperatures, initially for the bundling of gas cylinders, or for medical purposes such as oxygen supply. STÖHR was always a pioneer, and our valves have long been used in cutting-edge applications such as air separation, gas liquefaction, compressed gas storage or gas filling in gas cylinders or tanks, gas transport on mobile trailers or via vacuum-jacketed pipes.

Our broad product portfolio has applications in a wide variety of plants. We offer shut-off, regulating and non-return valves as well as filters for installation in vacuum-insulated or conventional pipelines with long-proven and robust products. Our customers usually require manual or pneumatic actuators, but we can provide other drive types such as electric, solenoid or hydraulic actuators if needed. Our robust, low-maintenance valves are designed to have a long service life, and the availability of spare parts is guaranteed, even with long-term use.

All STÖHR fittings can be manufactured to your specifications and adapted for multiple installation types. Whether you’re fitting your valves indoors or outdoors, or installing them in cold regions, in the desert or in harbours, we can help. Adaptations can include the use of suitable stainless steels and sealing materials, and apply to all add-on elements (pilot valves, limit switches or positioners).
